Craig Holmes opened his new restaurant called Buenos on Monday, 1 April 2013 and already has received raving reviews.  Buenos, meaning ‘good’, was suggested to him by his brother Garth among many other friends who know Craig well within the restaurant business.

Craig, also known as Mr. Holmes to his friends, has a long history in the culinary industry, sharing good wine and food with good people over decades... and yes he is that old. It all started with war and love intertwined.  He started his career off after matriculating at Krugersdorp High School, studying teaching and eventually joining the military service.  It is here that he met his wife who happened to be in the restaurant business at the time.  After the army, he studied Journalism and worked at the Horse Racing track for a while.

His interest in the restaurant business all began when he fetched his girlfriend from the restaurant.  They happened to be very busy that day and asked for his help.  Another restaurant owner who happened to be present asked him how long he had worked in the industry, to which ever so cocky Craig replied, “45 minutes to be exact”.  And this is where is passion started.
